happy halloween!

Sure hope your week has been as wonderful as mine!
Its been full to the brim and I anticipate a lot of change and progress on the horizon.  Boy am I excited.  At the end of the day, I simply feel blessed.  Blessed beyond anything I could have imagined.  Especially after graduating and leaving such a wonderful and comfy life I had developed in TN.  Who knew it would get better?

So- whats on the agenda for this weekend you ask?

-I plan to sew and complete these curtains [with the help of mom].  Pretty sad now, I know...

-And finish this cute little stool that was left behind at my house from the sweet previous owner... [paint & cover]

-And hopefully navigate through an intense maze with some of my bests....
And of course give out a ton of candy to trick-or-treaters!

Well.  Guess we'll speak Monday!
Cheers!

in the kitchen :)

It seems each day, I am adding another piece to my house. Slowly but surely, it's starting to feel a bit personalized.  Below, I have some kitchen pics.
My kitchen table and chairs has been in the family for about...10-15 years? My parents bought it from the I-Wana [years ago- printed classifieds] and its original color was hunter green [aren't ya glad that fad has passed?].  So, I took it with me to college and painted each chair a different color.  It was super cute for a college apt with white walls. But- since I'm now a grown up, I took a few cans of Ivory Spray paint to the bunch.  Love the new look.
Dining area and living room.
The shelf on the green wall: yard sale find= $2.  Ivory spray paint left over from table/chairs

The above area, I haven't quite decided what to do with.  I'm loving being able to serve dinner to the overflow crowd at the small table when my life group comes over, but I don't feel like it's just right yet...
Art work close up: framed fabric remnants
frames: $0.25 from yard sale + spray paint

The cabinet and counter tops are among the things I haven't touched. YET.  I have big vision for the counter tops so stay tuned.  And yes...I am aware that it is a mess in there! Sorry...my life group literally just left at this point.
Also, when I revamp the counter tops, I'm going to construct a bar there to the left, under that yellow light fixture.
Well. the office has been slammed, so I need to wrap this little break up.  Stay  tuned for some curtain inspiration!

Something Like That...

Coming off another perfect [full] weekend!  I guess I'm ready to tackle the week...
This morning, SecureGive announced the launch of our re-vamped website. The site has been in the works for several months now, so being able to celebrate the release is something major for the SG team.  Check it out sometime...
www.securegive.com
Well- I was visited by several folks this weekend.  The lovely Willis family was in town for a night and came by to see my new place! It was perfect perfect being able to pick [designer] Ashley's brain about decorating ideas.  Great family..
Nana and Papa also stopped by. I'd say they were a bit overwhelmed with all that's been going on at my place...guess that's a good thing.
Sunday, Dustin and Cliff convinced Emily and I to go on a hike... after some resistance, we gave in to their charm and ended up having quite an enjoyable afternoon in the great outdoors.  Clifton took us to his "secret" spot and we enjoyed some steep hills and beautiful river relaxation.

And to top it all off, the lunch crew decided to visit the good ole Cracker Barrel in honor of the rain!  Perfect Monday lunch...

I'm pretty pleased with life these days....
Tonight, I'm going to do my best to remember to take some shots of the kitchen for y'all to enjoy.  So, stay tuned.
Cheers.
p.s.- I appreciate my readers out there.  thank you for all your kind words and support! but, side note, I noticed I have a [somewhat consistent] viewer from Slovenia? I'd love to know who that is... just out of curiosity!

weekend ready.

So excited for Friday.  Unfortunately, I don't have too much excitement for you [mainly because I'm short on time with this post].  But, regardless, felt the need to keep y'all [somewhat] informed.
I've had a productive week.  Got curtain rods hung in the living room, painted most of the exterior of my house [via Dad], made time for quality time with friends, and SHOPPED online. [oops].
First things first, I have a product referral to send your way.
I'm always on the search for the perfect mascara, but never seem to settle on a product I enjoy.  Then, when browsing Real Simple, I saw they recommend this product by Maybelline.  So, bought a tube at Target for under $6 and couldn't be more pleased.
Next... I've gotten the itch to put some pics in my house to finally make it home...Hopefully Snapfish will have these delivered by the time I get home!
Graduation with my 2 best friends.
...my Lee family
Precious "lil sis" Sarah
I ordered a few more... but we'll save those for when you come to visit me!
Hope that your weekend is productive and relaxing!!  See you Monday...

rainy wednesday.

It's a rainy Wednesday here in Augusta, and boy does it make it tough to focus at work.  My thoughts are with my comfy couch, a warm blanket, and a good chick flick.  But.  I'm grown up now so those are days of the past...

Anyway. The weekend was wonderful [& packed].  I thought life was supposed to slow down Friday-Sunday??
I did, however, get a lot done! Mom and I spent some quality time with our good friends over at Lowes.  It was one of those [stressful] visits that wore me out!  I'm shopping for blinds/shades for my house because I am simply tired of living in a fish bowl.  Unfortunately- my window in the living room is 108 in wide and is proving to be costly to cover. Ugh.  So we left empty handed and defeated [mainly because we missed out on this incredible sale by a few minutes.  It's too sensitive of a subject to go into the details].

Saturday night, I did spend some quality time with the girls.  Surprisingly enough, we went to Waffle House and had a blast.  The staff was composed of these wonderful people that were nothing but sweet and entertaining.  They teased us for bringing peanut butter for our waffles, but of course, later asked if they could have some to try.  I'd say we converted them.

In other news!  The home renovating has moved to the exterior of the house!!  Finally, my place isn't going to be the eye sore of the street! Dad started pressure washing [yes- he loves that thing] and painting the exterior- Woodrow Wilson White! Well, after giving the house a good cleaning, it went inside and found that the front door proved to be NO barrier for the water he dosed it with. [AKA- huge puddles in the living room].  So.  Now we need to consider buying a new door.  Mom and I shopped Lowes and found that their fiber glass doors are few and far between and a bit over budget.  We scheduled an appointment anyway- for them to come measure the house and do whatever it is they do pre- install.  We decided to scope out Home Depot and realized their selection was just what I was interested in. Cancelled other appointment, asked our buddy Greg to do the install and ....LONG story short!  We found this beautiful door on sale- nearly half off!!

Sorry. I this is the only before picture i have!!
 Thanks all for now friends.
Cheers.

7 things I love about today!

First off, let's give credit to the fact that its finally Friday!!!  Next.  I just want to share with you everything I love about today.  And cheesy as it sounds, I just woke up with incredible joy today [which, as I always, say, is the joy of the Lord]. And it just seems nothing can stop me with it.
1.  Well, I love today because it comes right after yesterday. And last night, we had the absolute best time! I've mentioned that I love my friends and am certain they were sent to me straight from God for such a time as this.  Anyway, we had a last minute bonfire/ marshmellow roast/ and pumpkin carving fall party at my crib.  Brittany made hot cocoa, Dusty and Bry and Sammy made a fire in the fire pit [borrowed from brother Stu], and Kelly, Emily, and Sarah brought beautiful orange pumpkins.
The fire was perfect! Emily insisted we play Chubby Bunny; Sammy and Katherine were great sports and competed for our entertainment. After that, the carving began. Not gonna lie, carving is plain tough.
Brian & me.

After pumpkins, we nearly burned the house down cooking the seeds...
But of course, that didn't steel our fun.
2.  Another reason I love today is this. I woke up early and got a little crafty.  Inspired by this photo that Brittany shared with me....
Britt- do you have photo cred for this?
I decided to take some tape and a brush to my closet doors in my room....

I did two separate designs [as you can see] but i think this will be absolutely beautiful next to that plum wine wall, huh? I'll show you pics after the install!
3.  Next, I got to have a wonderful catch up lunch at Panera today with my long lost friend Emily [Allen] from back in the day. It was perfect and a breath of fresh air and encouragement!
4.  Then, I scored a free Pumpkin Spice Latte from sbux [Venti no less!!!] from the super sweet sales lady...
5. and this Beautiful friend of mine asked me to be in her wedding...
me & Jenna [DZT formal '10]
She is marrying a guy named Gavin and their relationship is as precious as can be.  Jenna is like family to me and I am overJOYed to be a part!
6.  And to top all of this off, my other long lost friend, Bailey Joy, is coming in town for a visit THIS weekend!
She's my crafting buddy. This is homemade headband night.
7. I closed a sale I've been working on since early August today and boy am I excited.  Such a nice church to work with - makes me love my job!

So there you have it. 7 things I love about today.
I sure hope that you all reading this have a great Friday too.  Enjoy the weather and the weekend!

oh to remember where we've come from.

Loving that Thursday has finally made it my way. For some reason, this week has just got me ready for the weekend.
So I do have a few updates for you... the kind that gets me giddy inside!
First things first...Living room preview.  This room is mostly put together but is of course missing some essentials: curtains, a rug, and decor for the walls [and the obvious- an updated TV].
Let's start with the befores... [there are a lot of them.]
front door there at the left.

you'll notice a little bit of that wall to the left...it is only but a dream now

remember how we had to scrape the popcorn ceilings? ahh soo long ago it seems.
And more ceilings...
And of course, Dad has his heart set on taking that wall down.

wall leftovers
And Mr. Greg came to help patch the ceiling...

Because of course, tearing down the wall left a large hole in the ceiling...
so we patched it...

Put some paint on the walls! (River Mist by Martha Stewart)

began painting the closet doors as well... [this is the front door]

And then, picked out and began laying floors!  eeek
Mom. She's cute...
isn't it beautiful!?

Had to fix some baseboards...

And finally furniture!!

Yes...these are all Craigslist items...

And I just picture the pj wearing lady showing Stu how she sits in the couch...

So... what do you think? [of course, minus the key decorating elements].  Cozy isn't it?
Well I honestly wanted to share some other stuff, but now I am just exhausted from the brief history of my house! Maybe more later...
Cheers xo
